Virgin independent online group discussion

Tonight, our group had our first on-line discussion minus our "papa" to guide us. I played host by initiating the conference call. All chipped in and contributed to the discussion. We decided to use Mind Meister as a tool to brainstorm on our answers.

However, I ran into some problems with Mind Meister as it refuses to allow me to open up the MindMap that ILing created for the Mission assignment.
1. I can log into Mind Meister.
2. I can see all the mindmaps including the Mission Code mind map.
3. However when I'm on that page, there is a message "Done. Error on page" at the bottom left hand corner of the page.
4. When I try to click on the Mission Code mind map, the message below pops up.5. I've tried to log out and register under another username, but the same problem happens.
As such, felt really frustrated throughout the night as I couldn't join in when the group was updating the mindmap. Tried to contribute by giving some ideas.
Anyone... can help??? SOS???

  1. Have I lLing given you collaborator status of viewer status. Viewer can only view but change change. Have your browser set to us Java?

  3. I'll try again tomorrow and see whether it'll work or not... maybe getting late, so everything going cranky.

However, during our first day of eLearn training, I could get into Mind Meister using my laptop. So it should be fine.

Just not sure what went wrong. :-(

  4. oh dear... getting really frustrated hear. thought maybe could solve the problem before i sleep, but looks like 100% FAILED!! Golly, what a bummer!@#$*&

checked out java - ok. even downloaded all over again. tried registering under different emails and username - also FAILED. always getting the same message - "this map cannot be initialized. we are sorry for the inconvenience, the event has been logged and the error will be corrected as soon as possible."

    Sigh!

  5. It seems that you are starting to use deduction to solve it. If the map opens in another computer e.g. in your laptop or another desktop elsewhere, then it has either got to do with your browser settings or your firewall settings. Easiest way to make sure is use the same settings in your laptop (if it allows you to open up the map) for your desktop. The same goes for your firewall. Many a problems are solve by just googling the question as out the millions out there you are never alone with a problem, others would have encounter it and found a solution.

  6. Thanks for all the help and support. Tried out this morning on my desktop in office - could enter Mind Meister easily. With fingers crossed, tried opening Mind Meister through my laptop and guess what... NO PROBLEM!!! I guess the group was right when someone mentioned that it could be due to the internet connection. Sigh... all the stress for nothing. ka ka ka...

  8. ka ka ka... never mind. That's why, as I mentioned in CITTAS blog... doing elearning has nothing to do with "ah-ees" or "lau-ees". Everyone will face with similar challenges. We just need to perservere and have the determination to learn...
